Edit the form with AI
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Kapture Signals and change the form's questions, answers and colours by asking in plain words.
What it is
Kapture Signals runs an MCP server — the standard way AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT connect to other services. Once the contractor has connected it, he can write "rename Carpet to Carpets and rugs" or "make the buttons dark blue", and the assistant changes his form.
Changes are live for his customers immediately, and every change is saved as a version that can be undone. Nothing has to be changed on the website — the form fetches its questions from us.
https://kapturesignals.com/api/mcpConnect it
The contractor does this himself, once, in the AI assistant he already uses. He signs in with the same email as his Kapture Signals account — no password, no API key.
- Add a custom connector (in Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector) and paste https://kapturesignals.com/api/mcp. Other MCP clients call it an MCP server or a remote connector — the address is the same. In Claude Code, see the next section.
- The assistant opens a Kapture Signals page. Sign in with the login code we email.
- Check which domain the page says access is sent to — it should be the assistant you are connecting, such as claude.ai — and press "Giv adgang" (give access).
- Ask: "Show my Kapture form". The assistant lists the steps, the answer options and the colours.
Claude Code
In Claude Code — and tools built on it, such as Conductor — the server is added from the terminal instead of a settings page. --scope user makes it available in every project on the machine.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user kapture-signals https://kapturesignals.com/api/mcp- Run the command above.
- Start a session, type /mcp, choose kapture-signals and Authenticate. The browser opens a Kapture Signals page.
- Sign in with the link or the code we email — in the same browser — and press "Giv adgang" (give access).
- Back in the session: "Show my Kapture form".
What can be changed
Everything the customer sees in the form, apart from the contact step's fields.
- The wording of every question, and whether it can be skipped.
- Adding, removing and moving questions — including follow-up questions that are only asked for one task type.
- Answer options. Renaming an option keeps its history, so old and new leads still count as the same answer.
- The colours: buttons and headings, background, answer cards and text. Colours that make text hard to read are refused, with a readable shade of the same colour suggested instead.
- Undo: every change is a version, and any earlier version — or the original trade template — can be restored.
The tools
What the assistant can do. You never call these yourself — you write what you want, and the assistant picks the tool.
- list_forms — Lists the forms you can edit.
- get_form — Shows the whole form: steps, answer options, follow-up questions and colours.
- update_question — Changes the wording of a question, and whether it can be skipped.
- set_answer_options — Replaces the answer options on a question.
- rename_answer_option — Renames one answer and keeps its history.
- add_question — Adds a question — for every customer, or only for one task type.
- remove_question — Removes a question (not the task type or the contact step).
- move_question — Moves a question to a different place in the form.
- set_colors — Sets the form's colours. Hard-to-read combinations are refused.
- list_versions — Shows the history of changes.
- restore_version — Restores an earlier version — or the original trade template.
Things to ask
Plain language works. A few that do what you would expect:
- "Add Epoxy floor as a task type, and ask how many square metres it is."
- "Make the question about other quotes optional."
- "Move the postcode question up right after the task type."
- "Use our brand colour #123E7C on the form."
- "What did I change last week? Undo the last change."
What it cannot do
The limits are there so the form can always deliver a lead.
- The task-type question and the contact step cannot be removed — without them an enquiry cannot be saved.
- The assistant cannot see leads or the customers' names and phone numbers. It only works on the form.
- Colours apply to the form at Kapture Signals and the iframe embed. The inline embed follows the website's own stylesheet.
- A contractor can only change his own form. Access is tied to his account, not to the assistant.
When it doesn't work
The assistant passes on our messages word for word, so the answer usually says what is wrong.
"Your user is not linked to any form yet."
Cause: He signed in with a different email than the one on his Kapture Signals account.
Fix: Remove the connector, add it again, and sign in with the account email.
The sign-in page says the link has expired.
Cause: The request from the assistant is only valid for a few minutes.
Fix: Start connecting again from the assistant.
A colour is refused.
Cause: The text would be hard to read (below WCAG AA, 4.5:1) — often a light brand colour on a light background.
Fix: Use the darker shade the answer suggests.
The change does not show on the website.
Cause: The inline embed caches the form for up to a minute, and colours only apply to the iframe embed.
Fix: Reload after a minute. The form at /f/<slug> always shows the newest version.
Technical details
For developers and agents connecting a client other than the common assistants.
- Endpoint: https://kapturesignals.com/api/mcp — Streamable HTTP, stateless. It serves the 2026-07-28 MCP specification and falls back to 2025-era clients.
- Authorisation: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Unauthenticated requests get 401 with a WWW-Authenticate header pointing at https://kapturesignals.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/api/mcp, which names the authorisation server. Clients register themselves (dynamic client registration).
- Tools: list_forms, get_form, update_question, set_answer_options, rename_answer_option, add_question, remove_question, move_question, set_colors, list_versions, restore_version. Start with get_form — it returns the step ids every other tool takes.
- Access can be withdrawn by removing the connector in the assistant, or by asking Kapture Signals.
